For tying mosses, get the finest type of fishing line and tie. You may also use green thread to tie but thread will melt away in no time, and if your mosses are still not attached by then, it may become quite messy.
Cheers.

hmmm.. i guess the melting of thread is not true..
i have black sewing thread in my crs tank with ph 6.0 - 6.5 for a total of 5months and the sewing thread is still there.. not melted at all.
i got my netting for mosses from Polyart. brand is Eiho i think. you can ask the staff there they should be able to help you out
thanks alot!
Hmm...why last time when I used sewing thread to tie, it would melt on me? Maybe it's the quality of the thread used Anyway, I've seen the Eiho brand netting displayed at Polyart, it's outside the shop. Cheers.

I too tie with sewing threads "borrowed" from my mum. No problem at all.
i use netting on particularly smooth rocks that fishing line won't be able to get a "bite" on and would slip off easily. wrap the moss around the rock, then wrap the netting around the moss/rock and use fishing line to tie at the bottom using a "drawstring pouch" kind of method. works like a charm and the moss grows out and covers the netting in no time.
for rough rocks and wood i'd use fishing line over netting
