I've just watched the replay on SportsCenter on ESPN channel. There wasn't a need for Hamilton to take the shortcut. But when he took that shortcut, his car was already accelerating before Kimi passed him. He knew what he was doing and he got it at the next corner. Taking a shortcut ain't the way to win a race. It's disgusting to say the least. Doesn't he know that the world is watching? And he got a podium finish for attempting such manuever. What the fishcake......

Given the conditions and the obvious lack of cornering ability i think it was a wiser move for him to cut the corner than risk spinning and completely blowing his chance of any finish.. Indeed to win a race by doing so is hardly champion tactics, but he did immediately give the lead back before he went over the line. To do so Kimi would have to have a greater velocity than Lewis, and momentum would count for giving him a bigger advantage for the corner coming up. It was unfortunate Kimi lost the lead immediately on the next corner, but i thought it was fair enough. The lead had been established back to what it was and unfortunately Kimi later spun out.

Either way, i thought the time penalty was not needed and a little harsh to say the least. But then again, i'm english

Yes. I am astonished! Stewards punished the one who raced while Massa prefer to sit back. Kimi and Ham provided so much excitement. In the end, the brave ones did not win.

It started to rain and Massa could not change to wet weather tyre or risk giving away his position. F1 car on slick tyre are not made to race when it rain as Kimi has proven.

I think we should have a relook at the replay. What I've had thought about the shortcut is based on where Hamilton front wheel is in relation to taking the corner. If it's beside or even in front of Kimi left rear tyre, then Hamilton shouldn't be blamed for taking the shortcut. But if Hamilton front tyre is behind Kimi rear tyre, then Hamilton should be penalised as Hamilton has the only option that was available to him, which was to slow down and let Kimi pass him as Kimi has the right of way instead of him taking the shortcut. In a race, the front driver can block his opponent but no physical contact should occur. Take a look at the replay if it's available.

Haha, i keep hjearing something about its going to be the first night race?

I'm confused what they mean by this. Does this mean its going to be shown during my (uk) night time. Or is it actually going to be a race in the Singapore night sky?

Sooooo unclear everywhere i've looked, does anyone know?

They make it a night race so that the fan in europe could still watch during the afternoon.

I believe my father has a friend, who doesnt work directly for Renault F1 but works for Renault themselves and gets all gossip straight from the team. Although Renault is french haha. So isnt based in UK i believe. Pointless story, but information none the less

I live in Coventry - Nearest big city. About 30 minute drive southeast. On any map, global or local it should show Coventry as the next heavily populated area Birmingham sucks - Coventry is better Haha, slightly bias. I always get lost in Birmingham.

Dear friend, I believe next year, a few places will be hosting night races. I believe Sepang will be slated to do that next year.

I like Sepang. Ah well, new and exciting tracks will surely take its place.

Out of interest does anyone remember the old A1 ring (Austria i believe). That was by far my favourite race every year. I love the alternating slopes, long straights into tight right handers. Shame they binned that track

Now I remember. I think it will come back just like SPA after renovation. I hope so. There are so much history about these European race tracks.

Who is going to see the F1 races?

I am still trying to get a walkabout ticket for raceday (Sunday)
My mistake, thinking that there are enough tickets, I didn't book earlier.
Waited till end of Aug, by then all the walkabout tickets were sold out.
