Not possible...i've tried it before,somehow pressure wasn't the same.
The Co2 just doesn't travel out of air stone but instead squeezes its way out of tubing near air stone. Air stone surface is also alittle too large which makes Co2 diffusion abit wasteful even if Co2 diffuses out of air stone. I'm using an "air stone" ceramic diffusor from dymax. Looks exactly like an air stone but finer surface hence fantastic diffusion!
Where to get the dymax airstone?

If you are using DIY CO2 and the ceramic diffuser happen to get choked, the pressure built inside the bottle might be enough to cause an "explosion" throwing out fermented yeast every where. Go do a search in google, its pretty common if I remember correctly.gosh now you got me worried

i try before with DIY CO2 and pressurised CO2 and both cases, the bubble produce is far too large and rises too quickly .

I think if your CO2 outflow is as huge as your air pump you could probably use an air stone. That way, you'll see the stream of CO2 causing your water to boil.

you can try plastic air stones. you'll need to try a few to select the one with the smallest bubbles. usually the co2 will not diffuse thoughout the air stone. it will 'seek' the path of lowest resistance and will give you a small bubble stream.
however, i don't know if they are still available from lfs.

I got it pretty cheap,less then $10? Can find it at regular LFS i assume?
I got mine at Polyart over in Clementi. It's in a blue packaging and the diffusor is kinda small which makes hiding it among plants VERY easy!
And yes...the glass diffusors are a pain in the ***! Except for the aesthetic value i find it alittle redundant?Not to mention you need to clean it up every now and then! I also broke quite a few and injured myself especially when attaching it to harder CO2 tubings!!!
oh, another victim of the glass diffuser. I personally feel ADA ones will be more durable as the material is made of optical glass.
I got the UP diffuser, looks good.

Heal that finger and stay away from the tank until it heal. You do not know what bacteria is present in the tank and might accidentally catch fish TB. Long story short, you do not want that.

i feel the ceramic airstone from Dymax or UP is good. Diffuse very small bubbles

not sure.. still waiting for the system to pressurize...
Just ask unsually take how long to pressurize then we can see bubble coming out ?
that i am not sure..i was using the nutrafin ladder till yesterday then i change to the glass diffuser then it broke today and i change to this air stone.. its still not bubbling..
