nevermind..strawberry pseudochromis...

the color tells me that it could be from the carribean.. coz most of strawberry pseudochromis are magenta in color.. at least that is whats available here..

Hi James,
That might be a Fridmani Pseudochromis aka Orchid Dottyback... very similar to the strawberry Dotty, only differiential is the black line at head near the line....
phang, i never seen this in the LFS or FF leh.. u seen it ard?? perhaps it has been a long time since i last went to the LFS or FF...

Heheh,
never see it either... see the strawberry dotty only....
I have been looking for this orchid dotty for quite a while too. heard that they are not as aggressive as the others....
All the colours but none of the attitude!!!!![]
i used to have the strawberry dotty.. love the color.. actually, my fiancee bought it for me.. seems that it is hardly available..
james, how much is it in UK??? u bought it? if so, bad choice.. coz it is gonna be an expensive snack for your lion...

You referring to the Orchid or the strawberry....
The strawberries are pretty common in LFS....
As for the Orchid..... have yet to see one here...

yep kel, pretty sure since mez put up pic.
But that was long ago- i dun go pac marine on a regular basis. i think the strawberry ones were $9 but these should fetch ard $14 if or when they come. very small quantity- maybe 2 or 3 pcs only. Maybe they seasonal!.
Mez: cost aside, once it goes into a reef- u won't be able to get it out again easily is u don't like it.shoots like a bullet into LR

Guys...that is indeed a fridamani/ orchid dotty back...
Its quite rare in SG n i have one in my tank. Mez...it is sooper dooper frenly...unlike most dotty backs.
Wun attack ya shrimps like some dottys do and it is very peaceful towards new additions.
Buy it...I think its worth the price.![]()

I want one..... the orchid dotty is a rare find indeed.....
Unlike the strawberries, these dottys are less aggressive....
Where did you get yours????

Phang...
I bought 1 @ Hong Leong and the other @ PacMarine. I believe the former got his stock from the latter.
Am looking out for a black cap basslet. Hmmm...![]()

Wah...
You sure got taste for the harder to find fishes....
Blackcap Basslet... hmmmm never seen one yet...
You then must have interest in the Swissguard Basslet...
Both Basslets are deeper water fishes... so will definitely cost a bomb if they are available.......
Do notify me if you ever come across these fishes.......
Another fish that I will show interest in is the Tricolour Fairy Wrasse ..

I was just about to say, but Phang beat me too it..
Black Cap Basslets will be pricey, and will hide a lot because they are from deep deep waters.
Good luck in finding one, they are nice fish!
