Help for 15x10 cm shrimp tank

I am just starting a small shrimp tank, that is about 15x 10 cm. I will be keeping it in my room, which is air-conditioned at night.
For filter I would like a jebo hang-on filter, which I am told is reliable.
Do i need to get a chiller for this tank? As i would like it to be as low maintanence as possible, is it good to keep moss in the tank? Furthermore, where is a good place to get good supplies in the east? I stay around kembangan area. Thanks in advance for all the help.

hi, for your tank size, you definately do not need a chiller.. If u want to lower the temperature, u could use a small clip on fan..

But in the long term, i would recommend getting a larger tank as the water parameters can be kept stable easier..

Also, what type of shrimps do you plan on keeping?

Do read up more here before embarking on your tank or you may have have high casualties though....

Thank you. I will be keeping cherry shrimps first. Might move on to other kinds of shrimps if the cherries thrive.

Do consider a larger size tank, possibly at least 30cm cube. Your tank at that dimension is really small, and with small tanks, it is difficult to control water parameters. Water parameters are more stable in larger tanks.

Aquarists who are new to shrimp, will find it much more challenging to keep them in small, tiny tanks. Shrimp are generally sensitive to water parameter changes, so keeping the water parameters stable would provide a better chance of success.

Ok, I think I will be buying another tank soon also. Just wanted to try a small tank first to see if the shrimps survive.
On another note, what does cycling the water means??
Before I put the shrimps into the water, I will be aging tap water for about half a day and then adding Aquaplus in. Then, I will be leaving it for about 30 mins before adding it to the tank, which will have gravel inside. Then, after the gravel has settled, I will add the moss in. Is this alright?? Am I missing out any important steps?
