Looks so tempting. Maybe it's a good idea to bring extra clothing to change after the shooting; especially if need to take a ride on other bros cars later on.

I will like very much to go. But there is a company annual dinner the night before, hope I won't get too drunk on friday night.

as for tripod/monopod, feel free to bring along. It is better to have something and not use it rather than need it but don't have it

I was thinking, why not use the L shape thingy where you connect it to the view finder and can focus from top down. (Sorry don't know what's it called)

please bring drinking water and wear comfortable clothes, those who are sensitive to sun burn, please bring lotion, insect repellent is not really necessary as sime forest does not have much mossies to worry about.

Colin, don't be mistaken, it is a macro outing, butterflies is just the main subject in this case. However, everyone can roam the area for other subjects, the fauna diversity is large and there are many other things to photography, not just butterflies

Yeah, a family spotted a snake trying to swallow a frog at a stream nearby. It decided to drop the frog and dive into water when we got near.

unlikely you going to get wet, unless you want to be gungho and prone in the water , change of clothes is advisable, especially when you get sweaty

The common puddling butterflies are the usual residence right? Just wondering if forest butterflies like the branded imperial will puddler too?

50/50, that is the beauty of field photography, you never know what to expect.

the branded imperial was not known to puddle, but it is still possible. They are shade lovers.
