Where can I learn PHP programming?

Once again its a brand new year and its time i set some target for myself.

Therefore i love to learn how to construct website using PHP and mysql.

Understanding its the most common language for web development.

Can anybody direct me to a school that can help me achieve my goal?

Hi apollo.

IMHO, PHP is quite easy to pick up. Maybe you can start with getting some PHP programming books from the national library and try it out on your own.

There are lots of free PHP script available in the internet as well. I personally like to download these scripts, understand and then customise from there. Good luck!

Is there any title that you can recommend? I really know nuts about programming although i have dabbled into Dreamweaver before.

Am not good with books and i think my learning curve will really steepen if somebody can teach me. That is why i dont mind paying to learn it.

I don't actually have any title in mind, but I remember the library have quite a number of titles available. Try looking for those PHP Bible series or those learn PHP in 24hrs series. Maybe start with something simple and slowly play around with it.

One thing to make learning easier is to set up a test environment on your PC. Have you set up your web server with the PHP 5? Have fun!
