Just received the following specs from swee sin for their catalina 1.7/3.4/6.7 L Co2 cylinders, they don't sell solenoids, so thinking of getting the JBJ solenoid from NA.

I have attached the specs , seems the thread on the cylinder is BS341 no.8 0.860 - 14 TPI, not sure if it will fit correctly on the solenoid.

    Can anyone help ?

Yes. They will fit. Having that combination currently.
Ask them to remove the handle if possible. I bought my catalina 2nd hand, found that it is abit of a trouble when attaching the regulator on with the handle present. But it can be done still.

I think I have a picture of the catalina cylinder in the gallery if you need it. Under equipment.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

thanks benny, the pics i posted were those of the valves , with b351 12.7c. Gary emailed me a couple of 1mb pics of what tanks he has, and they look pretty good, a bit pricy though.

They are the best cylinder in my opinion! A brand new one will cost how much? I bought mine 8 years ago from Petmart. Can't remember how much I paid for it already ~_~

as long as it can fit the jbj solenoid, it will be fine, just that gary did warned me that its is critical that the solenoid must "fit" his cylinder. Previously what i gathered from james that he needed a step down to 1/4, 1/8 est... to hook them up with dual guage + solenoid.

bs341 no.8 0.860 -14 tpi is the british standard for co2 cylinder valve.
0.860 is the diameter of the outer diameter of the screw thread.
14 tpi means 14 threads per inch.

cga 320 is the us standard and is not compatibe with bs341.

it is advisable to bring your co2 regulator to ensure that it fits the co2 cylinder.
