Subwassertang aka Germen fern and mini pellia turing dark

some part of my Subwassertang aka Germen fern and mini pellia turing dark in color and melting ?
what causing it ? and my other plants are not facing this problem
using 2X 13w pl light , temp at 25~26 and with CO2

It happens to mine as well. I bought it at a farm in Lim Chu Kang and days after turned dark and melted. Yamato happily begin clearing it away and now left 1/4 on the wood log. It was pretty neat and green in the farm.

I'm using 55W FL, temp at 27 degrees with CO2.

Any advice how to keep this plant? Thanks and appreciate.

I'm keeping some coral pelia at the moment, not much light required and old water preferred. Growing like wild fire, at times I dun even on the light...maybe this will help oh low temperature also preferred 26-27..

may i know what is your kh reading.?i have encounter this before too,and i notice that the reading on kh is at 6deg and i think it's on the high side but when i bring down my kh to 3 deg it recover to the orginal form.it take time to recover to the orginal form.i only check on ph and my kh for my water parameter.

i using cold water but this problem just happened this few days , before that i just havest my germen fern to two paddle some more , and the mini pellia are growing fine seen i brought it until this few days

hi michael, i think they are not refering to coral pelia.
coral pelia the leave shape and size is totally different from mini pelia,mini pelia leave size is about 2mm to 4mm the most ,whereas the coral pelia leave is very much bigger in size,shape,leave texture on both also totally different.

coral pelia and mini pelia dont really need high lights ,cold water very much prefer.the best result temperature is 24 deg to 26deg. if you have high lights be it pl 0r t5 it is still alright.i have both specimen in my 5footer .i am using 6 pcs of t5 80 watts mixture of 10k and 6500k.

forget to get the test , but i try wc and see how first .. hope it works
