Fireworks on Valentine's day

Feb 14, 2008. I didn't celebrate the Valentine's day as I'm single. When Edwin called me up to shoot the fireworks, I thought he was making a joke! I never thought got people play the fireworks on Valentine's day!

Later I found out it was the 9th day of Chinese New Year when the Hokkien - Chinese will celebrate the "biggest day" during Lunar New Year. According to the lagend….Few hundred years ago there was a war in Hokkien province of China and the Hokkien people went to hide in their farm & were safe from being killed by the enemy….When they came out from the farm, it was the 9th Day of Chinese New Year…then they chosed that day as the biggest day of a year!

I'm not good in taking picture of fireworks. Some of the pictures are taken using very wide focal length, hence I cropped a bit so that can see the fireworks more clearly.

And the worst part is ....I dropped my wallet! I couldn't sleep whole night and I prayed to my God that I could find it on the next day. On the next day I had to rush here & there to cancel my credit card, to make a new identity card, driving licence & others. at noon, my father called me & told me that an honest guy found my wallet & returned it to me in the afternoon. He told me that he was trying to find my address last night but failed to find my home & he came to find it again in the afternoon with his father & managed to find my home in the second time & passed to me my wallet face to face! I gave him an "ang pow" as a reward for his kindness!

I couldn't believe at first but there is still got nice & honest guy in my hometown. I also Thank to my lord for answering my prayer.

What a dramatic Valentine's day.
