Hi, anyone using the above? I am currently using co2 tank with solenoid and mixer from NA.

I have a few question to ask :

Do you need a check valve from bubble counter co2 outlet to mixer? to prevent water from flowing back when co2 is off?

How could you top up the bubble counter if you need to remove the pipe from bubble counter co2 outlet, as water will start flowing out from the mixer?

When need to refill co2 tank, is it just remove the regulator with the rest intact? Will the water flow out from mixer?

Anyone has such experience, please share?

a check valve is usually recommended. while it is optional, you should ensure that the back flow does not get to your co2 regulator.

you can remove both inlet and outlet pipes before refilling the bubble counter.

remove power from the solenoid and the back flow will be very slow.

    Hi,
I've just gotten my CO2 cylinder from NA too.
You can get one of those bubble counter thats fixed directly to your regulator unit. It's got a built in check valve. I tried blowing into it (via air tube), and I can't, so I guess it works. However, there will still be minimal backflow when the solenoid is off. I guess we can always add another check valve halve way in between.
    Cheers,

    Thank you for your reply.

I do have a check valve in between co2 tank and bubble counter to prevent the flowback into tank.

When u mention remove of inlet & outlet before refilling the bubble counter, the water from mixer will start flowing out from the outlet tube. Any method to stop that?

If top up co2 tank, just remove the regulator leaving everything intact, will it be alright?

is your co2 mixer driven by the output of your filter? if so, you can switch off the filter when you refill the bubble counter. alternatively, you can bend the tube backwards to constrict it and use a clothes peg to hold the constrict in place.

if you have the issue of water flowing back toward the bubble counter then you should detach the regulator, solenoid valve and needle valve from the tubes.

Thank you so much for your help.

Yes, co2 mixer is driven by the output of the filter. I was thinking could insert a check valve into the tube while refilling the bubble counter to stop the back flow? Anyway, will use your option if not successful.

Something new to me as this is the first time using co2 mixer.......

I believe switching off the filter, will not stop the water from flowing back out from the mixer through the tube once I remove it from the co2 outlet of the bubble counter.
