Nope, at least he got the bacterial ready.

I used a lot of Substrate Pro, estimate 70% (8 liters) of them inside my large canister, plus another 2 liters of Bio Rings.

Biological filtration is most beneficial to planting tank.

May I know what's the best organism to use for cycling? At least for the first week.

Cycling the tank is to establish the bacteria bed in your biological filter to remove the toxic ammonia in the fish waste. Therefore to grow a culture of bacteria in your filter, ammonia in some form must be 'feed' to the bacteria.

Got it! Any form of decaying plants, dead organisms, uneaten fish food, fish excretion... blah blah blah... will get it done today

Since the water is very cloudy and yellowish... I reckon the tank needs more beneficial bacteria to speed up cycling... read about this ADA product which consists of 100 types of bacteria... interesting

Place the 'ball' next to the canister filter inlet as I need bacteria to travel to the heart of the canister fast

I know the tank looks real noob at the moment and the water is really cloudy You guys think I should move some of the plants or just let them settle down for a week or two?

I thought you were going to plant heavily from the start?

It's better to decide on a layout first and then do the planting. The constant shifting of plants is not good for the plants as they need a stable environment to start developing.

Cut back on the lights. I hope you are not dosing any liquid fertilizers for the moment.

I was a bit lost at the beginning...

I'm more of less set for this layout (for this tank)... will let the plants settle down first.

I am providing them 10 hours of light now and yes, I've added some fertilizers

I hope the use of DI water will help reduce algae, furthermore I do not have any fish/inverts at the moment. Does the Dennerle and ADA bacteria help also?

Bro are you referring to the Pearl Weed (Hemianthus micranthemoides)? Yeah I don't mind trimming them constantly... I just need some tall plants to cover the ugly eheim inlet/outlet pipes

On second look... did I ID it correctly?

I dont really know the ID of the plant, but yes i am referring to those plants in the picture. Great that you set about having a diligent routine of trimming plants. Nice tank and layout you have too.

Too small amount of plant to begin with. Need cut back the lighting period. Shouldn't dosed any fertilizer at this stage (don't forget that had been enough fertile within the new soil), beside those plant has not ready accommodating into such a new environment yet.

I hate this beginning period because i don't have sufficient time viewing the plant due to 4 hours light-up, but remind myself to be patience. Planting...... we always need to be patience, no short cut anyway.
