where's the best place to get these?
how can you put them into existing tank (ie: got water/fish already).
what if it feels a little sticky ? (I've handled one before and it feels sticky..)
advisable to use these ? do they become algae magnets of fish deathtraps?

Hi,
Have seen them at Aquamart, Petmart, Pet Safari, Mr. Fish and Aquaria Pacific (Lor Harlus).
To install, first take out the fish, then remove the background plants. Don't think you need to silicon it, just push it into the substrate. Replant, put fishes back.
If it feels sticky, wash it clean first, most of them have be sitting in the shop for ages. At S$150 for a 3 ft background, it's no surprise. As for death trap, there is a potential if the sides are not covered properly, just like those moss walls on mesh. Backgrounds for 4 feet and above are harder to find. Not many buyers willing to pay.
Background like these are an attraction in itself, usually with a main feature like tree trunk or rock outcrop. On the other hand, it also restricts your planting as it's quite pointless if you cover the whole thing or most of it. No "themed" background, no such problems.
Regards,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
