    Hi,

I'm interested in getting external filter for my 2ft tank now. I intend to get one with higher capacity so that I can use the same filter if I upgrade to a bigger tank.

Currently, I have few choices I prefer, like professional, professional II, ecco. Which one is the prefered one to get and how much is the prices roughly? Can someone quote the price of the filters here? I intend to go clementi to check out the price and I roughly know what is the price of NA but it's out of the way most of the time. Please, I need some advice today before I go before 4pm.

    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Brigitte

Lots of ppl like the Pros and Pro IIs. Many dislike the Ecco cos they feel the priming handle breaks easily and is more trouble then it's worth.

Personally, I've used them for a year plus now and have no problems. I like the Eccos because they are easy to handle and have a built in primer. The Pro IIs have flow control, but the Eheim faq states that you can control flow on any of the canister filters by adjusting the tap at the filter outlet valve (never at the input).

Can't remember if the Pro IIs have a built in primer.

    I don't know the prices.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Pro 2 have build in prime, for a 2ft a pro 2222 will be suffcient but if you want something bigger so that the next time you upgrade your tank then get pro 2 2028 but with the 2028 you have to control the flow of the current as it'll be too strong for your tank to handle.
    Cheers!

I have a collegue who used a 2028 in a 2ft with 1 small LH and ran the filter at full blast. The LH lasted about 2 weeks then died of exhaustion.

I think for a smaller tank a 2026 would do... basically the same as 2028 but with 2 trays inside instead of 3.

As for eccos, I think the design is poor... I feel they didn't put enough testing into the priming handle design... Gives the eheim name a blemish.
