- There are so many ways of putting lights for a Marine Tank. I have read up on an article before, use as much lights as your tank can accomadate or you can possibly afford, cause it is not possible to give them to much light as when compared to the direct Sun !!
- As for mine 3 x 2 x 2, I used 3 x Blue Antaric lights (To bring out the Luminious of the corals), 1 x Red light (To bring out the Red color), 1 x PL White Light (For coral growth) and 3 x Halogen Lamps (DIY) to bring out the Ripples of the water at the bottom of the Tank (This is a cheap method subsitute for the Metal Halide Lights)
- I don't really care how much lights are needed for the corals ! haha, what's more mportant for me is that the lights combination must be able to bring out all the colors and the beauty of a Marine Tank !! But till date, seems like all my corals are not complaining about my lights combinations !!

Where to get good and cheap antaric light? I have recently bought 2 x 2ft antaric light (cost at $11 each, made from Holland). I regret buy this light because they can't penetrate deep enough i.e. when I on it, it don't really show the blue effect onto my tank.
read it in reef org..... actinic is to bring out the florecent effect on the coral.... those 6500K (noon sun light) to 12 000K white light is actually the essential part of the light you actually need for your coral.... pinkish colour light is best to avoid as the light promote algea growth. That's the reason why most of the reef keeper prefer to use higher kelvin rating light. Lumen Lumen of the light tube/bulb is another things to look at when purchasing light tube/bulb. Higher lumen rating = higher intensity of light (stronger). There was a lot of plp tends to neglect this part and blindly choose those light with high kelvin and high voltage light tube/bulb...... just my 2 cents...

That's already quite cheap I think. I frequent NA cos Chan gives a reasonable price. As it is, he's charging $20 for the 2ft blue tube.
