I have a snail population that needs a "new immigration law"!to stop the snail bloom.
Do i add puffers? If so, will it the " munching immigartion officer" kill my shrimps?

    Any other methods? []

Puffer will go after your shrimps. I use the "See 1 catch 1" method. Never ending[] [] Heard of the trap method(film container drill small holes, put food to trap snail..), food melted, no snail caught[] . Happy catching!

There are many puffers in the market. The figure of 8 puffer grows to a huge size and is known to eat shrimps. But if you get the one that looks like a cute little button, the one called "blue eye puffer", it won't eat your shrimps.

One little blue eye can eradicate thousands of snails. But don't think all the snails have been eaten when you don't see them. Snails are intelligent creatures too and will hide when the puffer is around. Remove the puffer and the snails will come out to play.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. That means the only method is to do a 250L parameter erradication of the snails. peng san! []

Alamak, no lah. If like that, I also peng san. If you don't like to use a puffer, a clown loach will do the job too.

But the point is, as long as you don't see the snails, it should be okay. But snails are actually quite good for your tank, you know. They eat algae too and helps to keep your glass free from green spot algae.

You can NEVER eradicate snails by removing them one at a time. Even if you are really so hard-working, the snails will still be there, as eggs.

Rams, other dwarf cichlids and loaches will eat snails.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Rams usually pick on the smaller ones. They ignore the larger ones. They keep the snail population under control, but do not completely eradicate them.

Big rams will do the job size around 6-7cm will be good. Seen them crushing snails big or small just like parrot fish graining for corals in the reef.
    Cheers!
