i recommended the Atman 600li/hour HOB in my post =P

you could use a diffuser placed under the flow of the HOB instead of a reactor. an eden 501 is insufficient to power a reactor and still provide good flow in a 2ft tank anyway

C328 does stock it for sure. I know Polyart carries the smaller versions of the Atman HOB, but i'm not 100% sure about the large one.

theres still a problem? since i cant use the reactor, diffuser with the ceramic plate, and the dymax airstone and i hate the flipper, what other nice and really effective diffusion methods can i employ?

i guess your best solution would be to go with an Eheim 2211, Hydor Prime 10 or 2x Eden 501 to ensure sufficient flow after going through a reactor. you have too many requirements for a simple solution =)

I am using a Atman CF-800 filter for my 2ft 20 gallon tank. The water goes through quite a number of equipments and therefore the resultant flow is just nice and may be actually a bit weak for my chiller.

    Why cant use a diffuser?
I used to use a diffuser during my DIY CO2 days

The Atman CF 800 is around 960L/Hr is i am not wrong. you can easily control the flow with the valves.
I personally use a Hydor10 with my 2ft, flow is just right if your tank is not heavily planted. My tank only has HG and HC

Sure its been here since eons, spares are easily available etc...But sometimes the pricing can be a tad scary? Also, some of the recommended models are not auto priming ready?I'd like to think we've come a long way in terms of technological advancement, since you've been in the filter market since god knows when...couldn't you AT LEAST add in an auto priming feature? For the kind of price i'm paying,i'd at least expect myself not to be either blowing or sucking in tubings and face drinking aquarium water just to kick start the filter!(i myself have encountered this during the earlier stages of aquarium keeping!)No offense to Ehiem fans here, just some personal rantings from a Hydor lover! And yes...autopriming is definitely the way to go!
i love the design too! thats what drew my attention to the hydor initially
blue and black just somehow looks more sleek and sexy eh?
then i did some research on it and canvassed for opinions from a friend who owns one it and got myself one based on the positive feedback
too bad its still not as popular nor as easily available
but if you know where to go and who to approach, spares and parts can still be gotten

eheim's still the industry leader and all but personally in my opinion i agree that it seems overrated given some of the problems i heard
maybe some eheim defenders will appear to "shoot" me back after this comment???

im a fuss free person and any **blowing/sucking/drinking/tilting/shaking of **filter/tank/aquarium water is a strict nono
    (** delete as appropriate)
i just want to on the power and watch it work
for me, in terms of filters, no autopriming = no go!

im quite taken up by hydor nowadays and will be planning on using hydor for future setups
autopriming, sleek looks, relatively lower pricing, rotating taps
now if only hydor could add in separate media trays into the package it would be perfect

the eden501 or resun (forgot model) knockoff would be about the smallest you can find.

what kind of setup are you planning to have?
from your pics it looks like moss only
co2 may not be necessary leh
and imo, the inability of diy co2 to be controlled usually helps only to add another factor for algae issues into the equation

It is a canister type filter.
    Specs wise: Flow rate 960l/hr, AC220-240/50Hz 21W, Hmax 1.7m
The dimension is approx 20cmX20cmX34cm. (rough estimation)

Opps, edited the flow rate, read wrongly earlier. :P

i added CO2 to up the growth rate of my moss. when they just came, they were all black. they are now much more green. and my shrimps are enjoying the moss. it was moss only until yesterday when i bought a new plant to increase the amount of O2 in my tank, and that plant seem to have high requirements.

if its moss only, i assume its normally available moss from any lfs - i.e. java, spiky etc
    don't need co2 for those
instead, cool clean water will be of better help

    what kind of plants?
maybe you can name them then its easier for people to advise on their needs
if its really high requirements then perhaps you should ditch the diy co2 and go for pressurised co2 instead

If you are not going for a densely planted tank, Ecco 2232 is enough for a 2 footer. I had been using it for about 2 years without any problem. Small, easy to prime, silent & the best of all, the power consumption is only 5W.

However, Ecco 2232 is definately not sufficient if you are going to have a tank fully planted. I have to add another small powerhead to provide better water circulation.
    Cheers,
    U.K.Lau

like i mentioned, i dont have much physical space outside of the tank thats why i am looking for a canister filter with a small footprint. height of the canister does not matter to me.
