    hey guys, just got 4 sparkling goramis today.
    need some help in sexing them.
    i have 2 bigger piece 2cm~ ones with red and blueish colour.. just bought them today so their colour haven't really came back. and i got 2 piece colourless..


    they are super shy.. i only manage to shot 3.. 1 coloured one and 2 colourless.. they other are hiding among my plants.

    from what i've read, you can't sex sparkling gouramis by colour. the way to go about sexing them is to shine a bright torch through their bodies and locate the ovaries in the female (do a google search on fish anatomy to see what you should be looking out for)

    the dull ones you got are probably stressed or subdominant

    thanks for your advice bro, i had 2 coloured up guys and 2 still pale looking but having some colours..

    It's small fish, easiest way is to get 6 & above to let them pair up themselves, and provide more places to hide.

    can see from the stomach area if there is a yellowish triangle then that is female, if don't have , either no eggs or is a male... can be sex like bettas... I've kept them before and they spawned for me before but I did not remove the fries.. they spawned like bettas too!

    not very sure but from the pictures you posted, first picture should be a female and 2nd picture, the right fish should be a male.

    need brighter and closer pictures to identify them

    anyway, i guess this is a male.. he is starting to build a bubblenest...
