Hi folks itchy hands again. Went to LFS couple of days ago and got myself these. Was told it was a pair. But then today i realised that the female started to grow some beard
Now i need to find myself some females sturisoma.
Anyway just to confirm. Will the female have little bristle? Now the supposely female has got little short bristles. Should i get some females if i want to breed them? Really need advise now. Kind of upset that i might have bought 2 males

Gotten mine from Y618. Only 2 pieces left which i was told that they are a pair. And when i took a closer look the 'female' had none of the bristle. But when i look closer again today got some small bristles at the side of the head.

The bristles will drop off and will take a long time to grow back when they are stressed. These are just some of my observations.

Ok i get it. So when we go to LFS to buy them, females might end up as males right? Because most of the time in LFS the fishes are stressed up.

When you cannot sex the fish its anumbers game!
That's what i did for my L046 and sturisoma.
I got 6 pcs of sturisoma from C328.
And like akoh said "they are worse than rabbit!".
I average one spawn every week from them!
Still trying to master weening the fry from the first critical week or so....

    Pepe,
Will you stop tempting me with your catfish already? You're getting to be as bad as Benny already.

Cannot compare me with benny. He post beautiful photos of fishes whereas my photos are beginner photos.

I've seen at Fish Haven a whole tank of juveniles. If you don't mind the waiting game for them to grow big, you might want to consider them.

Well i guess i am not game enough for the wait. Looking for bigger ones to start breeding programme soon. But if i really have no choice i might consider. Thanks for the information.
