Following from this thread....

We have finally confirmed a location and a date for the above. A big thank you to Billy for getting Yio Chu Kang Community Club as a location sponsor!!

Event: AQ Basic Aquatic Photography Workshop 2008
Time: 1000 hrs to 1700 hrs
Date: 16 March 2008 (Sunday)
Venue: 2nd floor conference room at Yio Chu Kang Community Club (5 mins from MRT station)

As mentioned earlier, this session will be focusing on digital SLR cameras as well as advance Point and Shoot (those with ability to attach flash) cameras. Prerequisite for this workshop will be a basic understanding of photography. One will need to be familiar with concepts of aperture, shutterspeed and ISO as well as knowing how to activate these functions on their camera. The focus will be on aquarium macro photography, specialising in fishes and invertebrates. Although we will briefly touch on tank photography as well as image basic post-processing at the end of the session.

Initially I intent to keep this to a small group of 6 only, but the generous size of the location has allowed us to expand the group size to 10 members now (excluding instructors in attendance). We will still be able to give all participants enough personal attention, based on the gear they are using.

Currently, benetay, dxchen, Goondoo, illumnae, luenny, Merviso, rwalker, Shadow, stillife, trident and wynx have expressed interest in the earlier poll. They will be give the first right of refusal on attendance if they confirm their participation before 2359 hrs, 9th March.

Please list down your name, as well as camera model and flash model (if any) so as to allow us to allocate instructors. Also, please label your equipment when bringing them to the workshop. There will be many flashes/lens lying around and you don't want to go home with somebody elses' stuff.

This special workshop will be free to our AQ members. Non members need not apply. Priority will be based on activity of your membership.

I was so happy when i saw the title of the thread. So very much wanted to learn proper photography from more experienced members of the forum. But my heart broken when i saw the date. I will be away on the date when the worksshop is conducted.
Kudos to the moderators and instructors who take out their time to conduct this workshop. Although i do not have the chance this time round, i hope there will be more workshops like this in future so i can learn more fom fellow forummers.

Sorry all, I can't make it. As much as I am craving to learn more about aquatic photography from the experts, my company just gave me a short notice of overseas meeting over this coming weekend

Hi benny,

The workshop is just around the corner and I'm sure everybody involved will be looking forward to it with great excitement.

I'm thinking that there must be a lot of things to prepare and bring to the workshop... Are there things that we can help to contribute? Things like fishes and plants, shooting tanks or even a carton of beer

or maybe you need some manpower to help you setup the place? I'm sure with so many people involve, we can help to spread out your workloads..
