    Hi all,

Would like to check if a 1ft tank is possible for keeping a pair of apistos. Also is it ok if i'm using amazonia 2 as substrate?

    Hi

The size of the tank is min requirement to keep a pair of apistos. As long you give them enough hiding places from each other, there wont be any problem.
    Any ADA substrate are suitable.

    example:

    1) put more than 1 caves
    2) put more plants to block each other

plants, rocks, flowerpots, wood...anything to break line of sight

your 1ft cube with amazonia2 is definitely good enough for a pair of apistos. in fact, today i just collected my pair of wild Ap. agassizii 'Tefe' to place in my newly set up 1ft cube with gex powder soil =)

don't worry about their breeding they'll find a suitable spot once they're ready to breed. in fact, hiding places are good for breeding as the female will usually find a spot that she feels secure in to lay her eggs
