As the thread title suggests, I'm not sure whether my Rams are females or males:

Pardon the image quality. The glass was a little dirty and I used my mobile phone to take the image with flash. I believe these 2 are females? I bought a total of 5 Rams from C328 recently, but 1 died due to stress I guess. The remaining 4 survivors, I could only take a picture of these two. If someone can confirm these as female Rams, I'd appreciate it.

In that case I have to keep my eyes peeled for a big male, because the females are getting a little randy..

Got these babies for $2 each at C328.

I'm hoping I'll come across some healthy normal male Rams if I drop by C328 again. I have no interest in the balloons and I don't want to spend more to get a Holland or German Ram male, so I figure those cheap LFS Rams will do. None of the stores near my home stock these, unless they're the balloons.

(Edit: Sighting request has been split to this thread, http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...ad.php?t=38439)

Big problem, now I have a dominant pair of females...

Look closely at the Java Fern root system below the female, you will notice clear coloured eggs.

Now the bigger of the females is already laying eggs, with no male to fertilise them. I doubt the other female is a male, since she looks exactly like the egg-laying female.

I dropped by at C328 to hopefully acquire a larger German Ram male, but the stock the shop ordered did not arrive today. That means this batch of eggs are wasted.

    More Pictures

Finally got myself a new pair of Rams, this time German Rams from Y618:

The male. He's more stunning in real life.. my lousy HP camera can't do much.

The female. Pretty colourful, but I need to fatten her up more.

Last but not least, an image of the pair, taken with flash on the same handphone. They are a firm pair, and have more or less displayed dominance over the "odd" pair of females in the same tank.
