Well this is just great, my tank has been up and running great for almost 3 months now, and what do I get for doing A good job? Slime algae.

Yea yea I know, Theres A period of time in new tanks where we can expect to see algae blooms, but this stuff is insanely thick! And I never saw brown diatoms either, just straight to green slime.

So im leaving the lights off, doing RO/DI water changes, watching nitrates and phosphates(no phosphates, nitrates fairly low) And I have some snails and hermits. My lawnmower blenny is havin A blast in there to!
I put my powerheads where theres as few dead spots as possible, How long is this gonna last?

Oh yea, and A manderin goby. Im seein thousands of pods all over my front glass at night, How long would it take for the goby to completely demolish the population in a 55? I have A 30g sump with some live rock, will that help with the pods? Or should I just forget the dragonette?

    Thanks for the help

Oh yea, Heres A pre-bloom pic. With some post bloom pics to

I believe the way the rocks are arranged might cause a dead spot in that particular spot. Try to move 1 or 2 rocks to let the water flow away. As for the mandarin, it would wipe out that pod population in a matter of days.

how about manually removing all the algae?
as well as add some sand sifting gobies?
or try adding some macro algae into your sump to remove excess nutrients.

what test kits are you using? if your PO4 and NO3 are non existant and low there shouldn't be an algae bloom.

i just setup a new tank 2 months ago and have yet to see algae.
its now dominated by SPS LPS and some soft corals.
    quite heavily stocked too.

Is that supposed to make me feel better ryan? I got on this forum to help me with my problem, not to hear about others success while im being incredibly frustrated by my own problems.

Any advice(not success stories)would be great!
