    Hi everyone,
This tank was more than 4 months old, actually I thought aquascaping was easy and each week try to trim here and there. Worst!!! eventually the scape looks like going backward, instead of the lovely plants growth its looks like going back to my kampong time. When I look at everyone scaping are improving but mine was just shake head.

Actually it is not that bad. Personally I feel the you just need to fill up that background of yours.

Actually not bad Cparks. There is depth in your layout and I can see you intend to tell a story, especially the little sign post there. I can see a tree, some rocks and natural patch of grasses here and there.

Don't be discouraged. Go figure out what you want first and work towards it. Keep it that way and don't disturb the tank too much and you are on your way ...

Actually you are right, I'm the type who likes to meddle with the plants. And I think have to learn to be patience. Thanks for the encouragement.

Interesting concept... perhaps you have too many ideas inside 1 tank... those Cherry Shrimps look like cattle or something... very 'kampong'

Hi Jevis, may be I didn't plan properly in the first place, and doesn't focus on the right concept, so ended up with messy idea. The more I look at the tank, just reflect in my youth day in the kampong, and the cherry shrimps looks like chicken in the farm during those day.

If you want to keep your "Kampong" theme, can choose some stem plants that grows and look like a tree. First that comes to mt mind is Water Wisteria (Hygrophila difformis). But warning it grows very fast and need pruning.
Another suggestion is to paste a colour background on the back of your tank should make it look better.
I am not a fan of artificial things like bridges, old man fishing or gapping croc in the tank. more into the natural things.

Yeah very different... maybe becoz you added in a lot more varieties of plant especially those that have very distinctive leaves... hence a bit messy... true essence of 'kampung' style
