    Hi guys

This hobby is so very extremely addictive

Since I have some sand left and additives that can probably last my current nano tank 3 years... went through my storeroom to dig out this old glass tank

It's a small tank with a 1ft x 8" footprint. The top opening is narrower making the front of the tank slanted.

Copied Mr. Amano's method of laying 2 different kinds of sand using plastic sheet as dividers

The pail contains water from my current tank... for bacteria transfer.

Place it on my office work desk this time round. Currently using my table lamp as I have not found a suitable lighting fixture yet. Will try again tomorrow.

    Substrate:
    Dennerle Black Quartz Sand
    Gex Ornamental Pebbles

I purposely look for plants attached to lava rocks... will be using solely this type of rock for this setup

The 2 Moss Balls are from my other tank.

No problem.where did you buy it was thinking of trying some out.I think only shrimps that produce babies similar to malayan shrimp are able to be be eaten.Nice tank by the way.

I know... setting up freshwater is so much easier compared to marine... love it! Suits my impulsive nature

Actually moving away the 2 Moss Balls from my first tank is partly the reason for Part 2!

marines are easier than you think, Ro water, quality salt, live rock, light, circulation, protein skimming DONE!

I think theres more skill in aquascaping a planted tank, more creative.

I believe so... it seems to be thriving on the rock... maybe it will rely more on liquid fertilizer... which I will be providing on a daily basis

Marine is very power hungry especially for our warm climate... all those equipments you mentioned generate a lot of heat... having an up-size chiller running for 10 hours a day is no joke...

And yes planted is much more conceptual and artistic... that's why I am converting to fully planted
