whats the new leafy plant in the centre? betwwen the 2 rocks and below the nanas?

i find the left side a tad slightly too tall
maybe if its a little shorter it'll have a nicer "flow"?

and perhaps have the nanas a little lower and closer to the ground?
personally i think the positioning of the nanas looks abit better in the 1st pic
I believe that's the Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Brown'... I was attracted by its colouration

Yeah I think the Anubias nana is a little too tall But again, the look might be very different once the other plants grow taller while the nana stays the same.

    very true
it'll be very interesting to see how this scape matures out

hmm..now that you showed a closeup, it does look abit like wendtii brown
although when i kept it, the leaves were a mix of light brown and dark green and looked more thin and pointy than what you have
then again, im far from a crypto expert so i cant really be certain

so whats the fauna plan for this gonna be like?

The more pointy one is either 'My Oya' or 'Tropica'... that's according to a book I bought from Kino last weekend

Fauna... I'll probably go for a school of tiny fish... how about a pair of Apistogramma?

Oh yeah... I have upgraded my Eheim ecco 2232 (400l/hr) to Eheim ecco 2236 (600l/hr) to have stronger flow through the ADA Bio Rio media. I purposely get a larger ecco so that i do not have to disturb the existing 2 trays of media, I just transfer the entire tray over to the new canister

a pair of apistogramma, a small school of boraras and if you have a tank cover 3-4 hatchetfish. finish up with a couple of otos since you have shown that you have the budget, how about a pair of beautiful Apistogramma bitaeniata "careiro" from biotope? the alpha male is stunning and almost tempted me to get him instead of the Apistogramma agassizi "Tefe" i had reserved

If you don't mind DIY, you can try Artfriend at bras basar. I made my 2ft cover using clear acrylic sheet bought there. But i suggest u get the thickest they have, cos thin ones tend to warp.
    Cheers,
    Sean

i'm sure you're capable of keeping apistos Jervis

an alternative cover you can consider is the plastic netting i mentioned in my thread. i've uploaded pictures there you can take a look at. the benefit of this cover is firstly ventilation and secondly no reflected light

Thanks bro! I just hope that EFFORT = SUCCESS

Very happy to see most of my plants pearling today... my Anubias nana also release a lot of microbubbles trailing upwards... fascinating to watch

Do emersed plants bubble as well? Coz I suspect these Crypto wendtii 'Brown' were grown in emersed form

pH will hit a low 6.0 towards the end of photosynthesis... should I reduce my CO2 supply?

Jervis, the crypt you shown is c.wendtii green gecko and not brown. You can check back with colorful uncle again. They are already in submerge form but will still shed the leaves to adapt to your new tank conditions like mine. The co2 drop checker, you have to use KH 4 solution and not your tank water as amazonia lowers the KH making the results not accurate as I was advised and realised later on after discussion with seniors here. Do a KH4 solution by using distilled water, baking soda powder and a KH test kit to adjust.

Btw, the red plant you have might be either R.Macrandra or R.Macrandra (Narrow). A bit hard to tell apart since they are still small.

Amazing tank. I feel inspired to do some rescaping to my tank too.
