Wow looking at your tank and the equipment you used really made my jaws drop. Really lovely tank you have there. Do update frequently.
Hi bro Jervis, nice tank setup, have been following this thread patiently step by step and really interesting to learn the way you setup. Wonder if you have added up your total cost for this tank, haha.... hope I can afford one of this ADA tank. Cheers.

Did a 35% water change this morning... added Green Bacter to cultivate more bacteriaThe water is almost "crystal clear" now... after 5 days

A closer look at the Pollen Glass
The long glass body also acts as a bubble counter (for me).
Emm... I need to improve on my tying skills

Been following your thread for quite sometime already. What can I say? Overall nice la.Not only is it high tech but also high end.
Happened to be browsing through the ADA catalogue and even Amano is not as enthusiatic about his product as you are.
Titled as 3rd attempt. Meaning you've 3 ADA Green cubes or .... ?
God will make a way, where there seems to be no way
all i can say is... IT'S AMAZING!!!
wow~~~~
I'm just very uncreative...... don't even know how to create a nice scape.....
I have 1 good news and 1 bad news... let's start with the good news first
GOOD: My Blyxa japonica is turning copper... which I believe is a positive sign... something to do with satisfying its lighting need
BAD: Algae can be seen here and there... hair algae tooWill add some shrimps next week.
It's not looking healthy at all. It should be lush green if it's healthy. With algae appearing, something is not right.

blyxa will indeed turn coppery at high lights, but i think it's a copper sheen against a bright green background. that's the colour of my blyxa in my high tech 4 footer. from what i can see from your picture, your copper bits look a little too transluscent and the green bits are abit too blotched with black
Under high light, the new leaves might not be covered with chlorophyll yet since the growth rate is pretty fast. It should green up if there is enough nutrients for the plants to make chlorophyll. A starved plant (blood red, or copper colour) might look good to you but is in fact an unhealthy plant. Algae shouldn't be growing on a healthy plant. ADA new tanks should do lots of water changes and add carbon since it will help to lower the NH4 from the ADA aquasoil which triggers algae.

I'll suggest lower light intensity since it will give you more room for error but make sure you don't let the plants overshadow each other through trimming. Lower light drives growth slower and gives you more room for error. (Imagine that the non-limiting levels of CO2 for a 5wpg tank might need to be at 30-35ppm throughout the day in order to avoid issues whereas a 1.5-2wpg tank is limited only when the CO2 drops below 15ppm. Which is easier to maintain?).
Trim off as much algae as possible (don't worry, plants will grow back if you provide them with nutrients and good CO2) and add carbon to the filter plus more frequent large water changes.

Moved the Anubias nana away from the center spot (too much light). The nana is now placed next to the driftwood... slightly shaded. What do you guys suggest I attach/plant here?

My apologies for posting late. Agree with Maurice that its been a very long time since there was a complete detailed journal.
Nice ada stuff you got there. I had these planned similarly using arcadia pod for my presumely wishlist mini-S ADA as the solaris cost around 400+, i changed my mind however before the order push through and revoked my order with biotope.
Great idea using lots of high growth plants to combat algae initially, I like how you match the flow and used the point of focus on your tank. It will definitely look very good once your tank matures. Keep up the good work and let us know how you progress.
Excellent effort.
Bro
Where did you get that ADA tight thingy that looks like a wire tie that that you tie your nana? I sucks at tieing knots using fishing line or cottom thread. looking for something easier to tie moss to rocks or driftwood.
