I use 2 nets, one white and one green. Use the white net to chase the fauna into the green net.

huh? you mean theres a difference between the 2 nets? anyway you are refering to those larger nets right? even so, there will still be gap for them to swim to. any other method?

turn of your light let them sleep, once they are sleep catch them. Never try it with Mountain Minnow and Golden Algae Eater but worked for tetra, rasbora and SAE

You could try buying one of those cheap common plastic aquarium with those easy open-lift lids on top and put some food in there, when the fishes swim in to eat, just nudge the lid down and you'll catch them. Only problem is you might catch other fishes/shrimps as well but at least you won't destroy your scape by vigorous netting. Good luck

now that you mention it, i notice they sometimes remain still when light is off. maybe i will do that later.

by the way, my tank is finally cleared now, yea finally, except for the lapis sand. planning to rescape as soon as i catch the remaining fishes out.

now im keeping nearly 20 guppies in those kind of breeder tank that floats , together with 1 nerite snail, 1 yamato shrimp and 1 commando cherry shrimp( why i call it commando? cause i remember catching it from my 1ft shrimp tank and planning to feed it to the puffer and it was still pretty small and colourless, thought it was dead until i saw a small red thing moving on the java fern haha)

but i will try the method magnum suggested too.

You may want to place a trap (mineral bottle cut into halves and connect inverted and place some food in)
God will make a way, where there seems to be no way

i tried the trap method which i put in last night but none got in. think the only better method will be manually catching but still, its pretty difficult.

now im thinking of using the hose i use to water change to suck them out into a pail. will it hurt them using this method? seriously sick of having to 'camp' at a spot to catch them. sometimes feel like using a fishing rod to fish them out.lol

the hose will most probably hurt them as they're being sucked out at high velocity in a thin confined tube. it's unavoidable that they will be slammed against the walls of the hose repeatedly during the trip from your tank to the pail

ok got it. think i shall try making a mount with the lapis sand and drain the water and corner them, think it will be easier.
