welcome to the club, you are hereby officially poisoned. be warned, before you even know what hit you, your apisto poison would have soared to great great heights, beyond your wildest imagination...

    haha.. thanks bro..
anyway.. i got this food few days ago..
NLS .5mm pellets.. can use years since this is quite a big bottle.

picture taken after 50% WC.. when im doing the WC, this guy got freaked out and went hiding among my blxya.. he went almost colourless.. was very worried about him..
was glad to see him out after the water change..

anyway.. rescaped my 1ft cube yesterday.. will be shifting this guy to the 1ft cube in a week's time.. then i'll get a female from chong yu..

depends on whether you like broad or slim body, long back or front dorsal, spear or lyraete tail =) Ap. agassizii is the former and Ap. bitaeniata is the latter.

overall, i find Ap. bitaeniata to be the more beautiful fish. Both are equally easy to breed but Ap. bitaeniata fry take longer to grow so if your purpose is to breed for profit, then it's not as good a choice.

hi guys! an update on this fierce little guy
why i say fierce? because recently.. he ocupied the left half of the tank. any sparking gouramis(chasing my boraras as well) who try to enter the left half of my tank will get chased.. but i guess he allowed the boraras and algae cleaners to pass through?

either he is scared of my face or he is scared of cameras

    guarding his territory...

    check out his long dorsal!

anyway. today i finished rescaping my 1ft cube. tank should be ready by next week since i got biohome inside.
will get a male for this tank or maybe even a pair(illumnae is posioning me to get a pair for my 2ft)

    thanks for viewing

thanks bro.. i love it as well. anyway to let him curb over his shyness? everytime i feed them with NLS pellets, this guy would go hiding among the blyxa japonica.. ended up i have to drop extra food or wait for him to come out so that he can eat the food..

hmmm my shy apistos all can't resist NLS everytime i feed... i feed them pellet by pellet so that no pellets will touch the gravel. but as someone advised me, to make apistos more active can try stepping up the frequency of water changes? i'm not really sure about the rationale though, and never made an effort to really try this method out so i'm not too sure. nonetheless apistos are shy fishes who love hiding places by nature!

apistos are foragers as well, as long as some reach the ground, you can be sure they will be picked up later when noone's around

Evolutionz, seems like you are taking good care of it, its looking fat. Takes some time to get used to new conditions. Mine rushes to the surface when I feed.
