Nice wood! lots of potential, this scape..
Hope to see more updates!!
Just to clarify i meant sloping substrate, not plant height. Re-read what i put and realised it wasnt clear![]()
So the lack of height with your substrate makes it look plain.
Glad thats cleared up![]()

The back of the right side im considering downoi or crypt becketti as im too lazy to trim regularly if I plant rotala. I have seen downoi growing quite big and tall. Yar agreed with Vermin that this scape is rather flat.

Added some downoi on the right side. Hopefully they will survive.

An update of this tank. Changed the HC to jap HG as they were infected by BBA. Sigh... keep losing the battle to BBA. Added some moss and ferns to my tank. Sadly my Ap. Viejita male also up lorry (dead).

Been sometimes since I updated my tank. Tank was badly infested by BBA due to insufficient co2. Crank up my co2 and now a slight improvement. Lost 4 yamatoes in the processThere are still traces of BBA in my tank. This is one algae I have never won a battle against. Threw my bolbitis away as they were totally infested by BBA and replaced them with more narrow leaf java fern. Added some rocks, downoi and a tiger lotus. Here are the updates

what is that things (the green color stick on glass wall) on the right glass wall?
Bro... Pardon me for this effrontery, but the rainbar's very unsightly. Maybe change it to a lily pipe instead?
Cheers,
Sean
You are going to have low oxygen issues if that is the way you return the filter water since there is virtually no surface movement. Yes, plants do add oxygen as a waste product via photosynthesis but then they don't do that 24/7. I'll suggest you remove the spraybar and return it using the normal return pipe and make sure you have some moderate surface movement.
Not sure about the current in your tank but adding more CO2 is not going to help if the CO2 is not getting to the plants. Make sure there is decent flow around the tank and especially through the plants.

Yup that is a Dymax CO2 indicator. Currently no budget to get a lily pipe. Will consider taking out the rainbar if there is another photoshoot.
Peter, if I were to tilt the rainbar till the holes facing 45 degree up, do you think it will help.

Just remove the spraybar and keep the return before the tube join to the spraybar about an inch or so below the surface water. The water current should be stronger and can get around the tank better. Clean the filter often so that the current remain consistent. Read the article here and know why current is so important with the use of CO2.

Been quite some time since I updated my tank. Not much changes except the tiger lotus got too big and changed it to japonica.

A quick update of the tank. Quite pleased with the growth of the japonica. All algae under control as lights are on for only 7hrs.
