Last evening I noticed my female Checkerboard behaved very strangely in my planted tank, she was hovering over a pc of leaf (soli dunno the name of the plant) without moving !. She'll chase anyone than come close to her and then return to the same leaf !. Upon close investigation with my glasses ( age catching up lah !) I saw EGGS ! ! ! man ! this is the second time !. The first time oso catch me by surprise !. By the time I found out !, the eggs oreli hatched into fries BUT sadly all fries kenna whack by the tankmates ! particularly the Agassizi [].
So how ? should I remove the eggs or leave it as it is ? , FYI , I have redo my tank a couple weeks ago with a lot of " hiding places from the drift woods and the bully agassizi oreli kick the bucket, Thks for ur thinker !

I would remove them... the last time my Rams spawned, I trusted the silly female to guard the eggs. It was only the second day when I found my female looking horribly lost, and my yo-yo loach sitting happily on the leaf where the eggs used to be. In the end though, whether to remove or not depends on what sort of fish you have left in the tank.

Allen, congrats man... removing the eggs and placing them into a smaller tank together with the female is a good idea, but changing the environment for the female may stress her and may result in the female eating her own eggs

it would be better removing the other fishes if possible, once the fry become free swimmer then remove them. u shld have added pots into yr tank, IMHO, I never had any survivor from females which lay their eggs on leaves.. IHO, too open

    Kekekekekek ! that's a good one ! .
man ! look like I don't have much choice !
Removing the other tankmates is gonna be a big hassle !, same if I separate the eggs and the female ! man ! look like I've to leave them alone, hope the additional hiding places helps !, Thks.
