Is it ok to use the 2 x 36w balast to drive 2 x 39w tube?? Will not harm the tube or stress the balast right? Just not as bright as 39w?

    Please advise.

    Thanks in advance

magnetic or iron core ballast is heavy and runs much hotter. require a starter. light will flicker during startup.
e-ballast is based on power electronics. much lighter and runs cooler. saves about 30% electricity and does not require a starter. no flickering.

Not sure if its the appropriate question to ask here but will installation of the Eballast be a breeze? How does one check should lightset be faulty? Is there any feasible method to check on the working condition of a ballast without purchasing a new one just to try(or alternatively buying brand new tubes)?

Besides what has been mentioned by tawauboy above, another difference is the price. e-ballast is much more expensive.
