My 1ft tank attempt

Hi all,

Managed to buy some wood and stone... also GEX soil for my 1ft tank today....

Bought a new clip on light too...

Spent too much... sigh~

Anyway, here is my first attempt.... is an old tank so there are stain... hopefully i will be able to clean them up as time goes (after soaking in water long)...

Will be putting up a mini taiwan moss wall later..... and hopefully get some hairgrass to put at the left side slope to the back....





Please give ur advice

Hi Shirley, now the tank looks bigger than the first one and easy to work on. You should add more plants or else very plain. Now you can plant more plants into the soil, it is good soil for planting. Looks better than the first tank, but wonder whether you can removed the stain, use a razon blade and slowly scrape it out otherwise it spoil the whole image of the tank. Keep it up and update your tank. Cheers.

Will slowly scrap off those stains......

Plan to plant wall moss and hairgrass... think that should be enough......

there seem to be a lot of GEX soil dirt covering the plants!

I've tried washing them away... but still seem to stuck there.... even if it's cleared, awhile later will have again...

Sis are you running any filtration? If yes, the soil dust should be trapped by the filter floss. You manage to clean your tank off those stains?

oh no filtration yet...............

but seems that the dust stick to the leaves of my nana.....

cannot rub off......

really no time recently to clear the stain though...

Stain can be clean using vinegar, wiping it with vinegar does not work at least not in my case. You need to soak it until the vinegar dissolves it. For big tank where soaking is impossible, you can use those paper towel, soak it in vinegar then stick it on the stain, wrap it with cling wrap plastic and leave them for couple of hours. I usually leave them for a day.

Eh.... in my experience gex soil clears within 45mins and shouldn't leave stains on tanks. I initially added first soil, flattened them , place rocks, then finally plants, add water just enough to cover the soil, move to cabinet, then add trickling water slowly, this way , no stains.

err ya... the old tank got stain cause last time just left the water there till dry up......

anyway, the GEX did left dust on all my leafs..... and then i try to rub rub the leafs... but the stain stuck there... i scare the plants will die
