Hi all, I am very very new to the whole planted tank concept and I have decided to do up a 2ft tank. From reading other posts, I know that OHF is not good for a planted tank as the excess movement on the water surface will affect the CO2 level. So I was wondering what type of cannister filter would be good for a 2ft planted tank and won't cost much...preferably something I can with 50 bucks. Thank you.

Eden cost around 50, but may be slightly underflow for a 2FT as it decreases with time. I would personally go for an eco 2232, complete with priming.

Get a 2nd hand canister from the B&S in the forum.
But an advise, get the better ones so you will not have to waste $$ and buy again. you might ended up spending more than 50

If you don't mind a little noise, you can try jebo 835. The flow rate is just nice for a 2 ft. It's china made, & it's pretty cheap.

I second that! Get is good used Eheim from the B&S. A 2213 should be around your budget.

Do read up some threads in the forum. They do tell you what brand and model are the better ones. Might cost more but quality is what most of us looks for.
