Greetings, my interests are primarily planted tanks, and invertebrates. I started when I was 6 and left the hobby at 25 for fifteen years but am now back on track with about 8 tanks. five devoted to plant propagation.

Like you, I started at 8 and left at 16.
Then came back again at 35 in 2005... (that's a looong gap)
But I'm sure the memories of what works and what doesn't or is "a good try" just comes back, I hope for you too!
But from your interest, you've come to the right place.

Equipment might have "gaps" of common knowledge but easily overcome by stating specifications.
Otherwise, the passion for plants and invertebrates is good here.
