Just leave the eggs to the parent until the fries are free swimming for a few days and then separate the parent from them. If not, leave the parent with them as nature. Do you have other faunas in your tank?

Do look out for their action at that period of time if possible to see if they are able to come together or one party is too aggressive for the other to come close. My successful spawn will happened when I spot the both of them stay together in the breeding cave. When one is chasing the other like crazy, chances are low to have a successful spawn.
They do stay together but the problem the eggs do not hatch
Something is wrong.. i don't know either. Perhaps the pros here can help you.

what's the parameter for your apisto tank??
Try lowering your pH to around 6 to 5. Your water may be too hard for the eggs to hatch.

How to reduce the PH?
Lower PH by using ketapang leaves or peat.
Could be the male is weak, let them try a few times and see what happens, if he still can't make it then you got to change the male.
I face this problem when breeding discus too.
