That's a nice bullosa you have in the background!
I started planted tank in Jan08, mainly US fissiden & moss as I was keeping CRS. Decided to go toward crypt direction as was poison by it.
I am now slowly step by step replacing crypt into my tank, and had done up the right side of my tank currently.
All advise/comments wellcome!! Was thinking of adding ADA DW, is it too much or.........

Hi,
Really good indeed... it's good to know there's more people setting uo tanks just for crypts.
Can't wait to see more pics.

Joe Faria.
What is your tank spec? maybe you can add some branchy dw tied with moss?
The passion for aquascaping and apistogramma never fade away
Manage to get another DW, hope it is not too messy now.
What's your lighting bro? I am a bit tempted to start a species tank too
Your setup looks great, how long has this tank been?Is that glosso used as a foreground plant? The height is great! They simply creep sideways instead of the usual upwards, could it be partly due to the lighting conditions of 2x36W PL? Have you had success with lower wattages of lights like say 55W? Do share with us more tank parameters so that we could learn more!(*feels crypt posion slowly surging through veins*)
Thank you for your comment bro, I am still in the learning process too.
This tank has been 3 months old, but started crypt 3 weeks ago. The foreground plant is glosso, they creep well and stay low. I only tried 55W for a few days, but back to 2 x 36W as there are downoi & eriocaulon on the left side of the tank.
Tank spec is 3ft x 1.5ft x 1.5ft
Light: 2 x 36W PL
Fert: 4ml of K, once a week. 2ml of Iron, once a week. Python Git, 10ml once a week. Equibilium, 5g once a week when water change. 5ml of trace, once a week.
I am still trying out dosing amount to suit my tank, learned from a brother here who had taught me. Previously using EI method, but doesn't suit my tank.
All comments & advise wellcome.
Regards.
Below is the full tank picture, still thinking how to slowly remove all the stem plants. Have to be very slow as worry it will cause harm to the CRS.
Full tank view
Previous left side of the tank
I really like the right side of tank, looks really clean.
Problems removing the stemmed plants? If you want, you can just *snip* at the stems a little into the gravel and just remove the top. This way you won't disturb the substrate and the remaining stem and root can serve to "refertilize" the substrate.
Studying the water chemistry and nutrients is a science.
Knowing what plants to get and how to use them is an art.
Aquascaping is a marriage of art and science, the logical and emotional.

Thank you sir. Yes, having problem removing the stemmed plants, always has casualty after removing stemmed plants.,
I didn't know that the root can refertilizer the substrate, thank you so much sir!! You make my day, I was still trying to think how to remove the stemmed plants on the left side of the tank.
Thank you sir.

Ct
Wish to update & a question here:
The Crypt are growing fast and are clamping together. Should I propagate some to other place or just leave them alone?
Thanks in advance.
Depends on what your prefere. I have many crypts in my tank and they too have grown well and formed thick clumps, rather than spreading. I initially separated them and replanted as multiple plants. This proved effective at first, although 2-3 weeks later they were clumped again xD Only this time more of them.
Taking away the smaller side plants attatched around the base of the main is best if you wish to separate them. Although i was pretty rough with mine and basically just split them apart wherever and they have shown no signs of slowing.
I do love crypts =)
