    Ray,

Please kindly refrain from unnecessary abbreviations (e.g. gg, ard, nxt) and SMS short forms (e.g. u, tat's y). These are strongly discouraged as they are really really difficult to read, especially for our foreign members as English may not be the first language for some of them.

    Many thanks!

bro, after feeding the Hayasi free sample from LFS, my CRS turn funny after feeding for 1 week, I have 20 CRS, started to die. I ran out of wits then change 20% for alternate 3 days, stop feeding the food. I am lucky that I can save 8 of them.

Before you jump into keeping shrimps, understand that they are more sensitive to fish, alot of people make the mistake and jump right into it without understanding what parameters are required to keep shrimps. Just do a search on newly setup shrimp tank as such and try and pinpoint the problem.

Shrimps not eating isn't a very good sign and could be due to several variables.

    Hi Ray

Maybe you should start by buying all necessary Test Kit, eg PH, Ammonia Nitrate first. If not, i think you'll get many suggestion in this forum which might make things worst instead.

I am not saying that they are giving you the wrong info but as CRS is a very sensitive creature, even slight temp fluctuation might kill it. For example if your setup is using fan. During hot season, i'm sure your water will not be at 24 degree, it might be somewhere 25 - 26 degree. Then during the night you might get 24degree or lower. Uneaten food plus water evaporation from the fan = more concentrated Ammonia & Nitrade bulit up in the tank. Thus by adding / topping up water to the tank, the concentrationis only diluted but not controlled.

Then on the other hand your tank is only 5 gallon = 19 Litres - small tank
With water evaporated plus water change might add up to 30 percent water change. With a 30 - 40 percent water change may disturbed the quality of the water if you are not careful.

These are just part of the reasons for the survival of these shrimps. These rascal might give up their life for example 1 corpse per week , which can make us really clueless on what really happens to them. Thus please get these basic equipment to start off first before you venture further.

    Hope this helps.

In picture of your 5g tank, I see only hang on filter. Maybe getting small air filter or air store might be little better for your tank. It's good to have air running instead of just hang on filter.

so what kinda kits i should get? any recommandations?
I would recommend you to change water regularly. Topping up water can cause high TDS. High TDS can kill CRS. If you use fan, you will constantly face this challenge. Please check your water parameters first, before you do anything else. BTW, it is really impossible to keep your tank with 24 degree in Singapore, regardless how big your fan is. Please check with a proper thermometer.

A note on feeding bloodworms. Feeding too much bloodworms will cause very serious problems. Freeze Bloodworms contains chemicals prior to freezing. Bloodworms will also cause foul water when the "blood" leak into the tank. Leaving behind drained bloodworms.

    Regards,
    Emorsso
