I chanced upon this in a secluded area of Singapore (not going to say where though just in case their natural habitat being destroyed due to plundering).

To answer your question; all crypts are wild crypts. These particular ones appear to be C.pontiderifolia. Non-native.

I suspect it outcompetes our native C.griffithii since it's far more hardy and spreads much faster. They make a good aquarium plant and grow very well submersed.

Plundered? Chances that the land is being use for development are much higher.

That may well be the case for nature areas not in the Central Catchment Area.

And please refrain from revealing the specific locations where rare native plants and animals can be found. Close-up photos are ok, but preferably not the broader habitat or route. You yourself might be a bonafide nature lover, but there are not a few who'd be happy to do more than a bit of plundering.
