Tanks 1ft or bigger is recommended. The 2 points that you have mentioned will be good enough to house them.

thanks bro, will try to past a picture of my first pair tomorrow.
for the pair of apisto i bought is from C328. actually the female layed her eggs in the package with the male together with her in a seperate pack. pick out this pair because with the female spawning and the male by its side, most likely this pair is already bonded. hope that i am right with this deduction
most likely can be a bonded pair as long you provide TLC for them

Yes bro cacatuoides, i am feeding them with colour enhancing food which is rich in carotene. I have read in some site that feeding them with live food (i.e. tubiflex worm) is not so recommended as it may contain parasite and because the nature biotope of apisto is in low pH, this means that their immune system is relative weak. Is there any truth in this statement.
Only true if you pair is from the wild where the parasites and bacteria found in our everyday aquariums are not found in the natural low pH environment.
For farm or tank bred specimens, they are accustomed to the situation and possible have better immune systems.
But we do suggest not feeding too much tubifex or blood worms. Not really able to pinpoint the reason, but we get quite frequent deaths using those foods.
hi guys, any reviews for my pair of apisto hongsloi?? How would you guys rate the pair?
Looks pretty alright for a pair of A. hongsloi.
However since this is your first foray in apisto keeping, what is most important is that you got a healthy pair of fish in your tank!
And again, depends on your personal taste, there are A. hongloi that are super intensely red, and you might not like them that way.
Have fun!
It's NOT "Chee lick", NOT "Chee Chee Licks"!!! Cichlids is pronounced as "Sick Lids"!!!!!
