are these from southern China? that area has at least 140 species of Caridinae so it would be very hard to pin down to species level, especially without dissection.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

yes, it is not "tiger shrimp" as we commonly know it.

I am not suprise it is a tigbee shrimp if it is bred in Japan. Currently, there are lot of experimental hybrid by breeders there.

    Could it be a hybrid?
Many moons ago, I added some tiger shrimps(big mistake) to my now so called rojak shrimp tank with my so labelled baby amanos(turn out to be green cherry shrimp looking, any they can breed fast).
Anyway, many moons later,, when i scooped out some small shrimps for my tubs, i noticed that some of these green shrimp got a little tiger like black marking. Tigers and hybrids(?) not strong enough for my natural longkang tank, extinct already.

Sorry to borrow this thread, anybody knows what is the shrimp that are sold as GREEN cherry shrimp? - Wild red cherries??? Can interbreed with tiger or red cherry shrimp.
I could also find red cherry shrimps in this tank, but they could have gone in when i move the plants. Thanks
    Cheers
    DT
