Anyone saw them recently? Any idea what's their market price right now for a pair? I wished to get them but price is a determining factor. Thanks alot.

Yes. Betta rubra seems to be fetching a pretty premium even over Betta macrostoma. I'm sure when the fever subsides, pricing will be a little bit less.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

I'm facinated with the colouration of Betta Rubra...That why i make an enquires...My Jaw dropped instantly when i hear the price for a pair...
Read that someone have aready bred them sucessfully....Hopefully there's some release into the market to "subside" the premium price tag...

I'm not sure about the cost of RTG but I guessed they are valued at thousands. Needless to say that's way way off my budget. I've to save up for quite sometime before getting my pair of mac. Ok thanks for the replies. Perhaps might be getting Betta ideii.

Slightly off-Topic....Arrowana "RTG" cost roughly S$400~S$600 i think...Definately not as much as you thought....

There's many other Wild Bettas to keeps.... I'm currently looking for a few species...Maybe you look at my previous post...

PS:I can't seems to find Betta Ideii from the Database...

It seems many people who got B.rubra have successfully bred it. Me also waiting for made-in-china B.rubra....my friend's pair is mouthbrooding for 2 weeks already.

The list is probably not updated, I don't see anything that is described beyond 2000 in there.

    B. ideii was described in 2006.

    If I'm not wrong, there are still B.macrostoma, B.channoides, B.brownorum, B.rutilans.
Other previous species over the past few days seen were B.albimarginiata and B.dimidiata(might be sp. kapuas)

To be safe better to call them. Cause it's like 1 pair for each species. Not much.
