The Dymax 1ft 13W is a very good lightset. I've used it 2 separate sets on different tanks and my only complaint is the screws getting in the way when i'm trying to create a tank cover. if you find 13W enough for your tank, do go for this light set. If you require slightly higher wattage, Ocean free has a 2x9W set (higher wattage but lower intensity) and there's a particular 18W set i'm using (it's a China brand, can't remember what) that is 36cm in length so it sticks out a little

Dymax one is good but too short for my liking. The China brand is Jebao, I use that as well. The 18W bulb length is about/amost 1ft, so just nice. The drawback is it T4 'U' type, not that common.

1FT lights are limited in choice, not much selection. You can go for acardia pod 11w, same as the one Jervis is using for his cube30, he uses 3 sets. Or you could order solaris from ADA biotope, its 27W and fits most 1 FT.

NA's DIY 1ft seems duration. Have it for 2 years and still working. 6mths shop warranty and it is cheap. Can upgrade to 2x13W PL.

My complaint for Dymax is the holder that holds the light fitting is quite loose to me, anytime like can fall into the water lah...

Hi Maurice. Didn't know that Chan has a DIY set. Please do show us a pic on how it look like. He recommend me the Dymax one when I did my 1ft cube.

the 1ft twin tube 9W is ocean free i think. i recently asked Chan about custom 1ft lights and he said he doesn't do them. He recommended me the ocean free, dymax as well as an 18W china brand one. i took the china one in the end as i wanted a single 18W tube for better penetration. i'm thinking maybe i should have gone with 2x 9W for better spread instead =\

do take note that the china brand one is 36cm and as such a little will stick out of the tank perimeter. if such aesthetic imperfection bothers you, go with the Dymax.

One of the few things i like to have , unfortunately I have no idea who bought this from rebbot a couple of weeks back. Would really like to confirm if the 4 pins lights can be found locally.
