Just bought seachem iron last nite, need some help from you.
How often and when should I dose the iron? According to the instruction, add 0.5ml - 1 ml /10gal.(40L), so for my 2 1/2ft tank about 26 gal need to add 2.5ml right? I need to use my son's medicine spoon to measure it .
Do I just pour in the seachem iron direct into the tank just like other liquid fert.

    Thank you.

    Yes direct.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:

You could get a small shringe to help in getting the correct amount...

Anyway, you can probably pour it in direct. For myself, I prefer to dilute anything I put in the tank first... i.e. pour the 2.5ml into a 1.5L pep bottle of water, then pour the 1.5L into the tank.

There is a 1ml plastic dropper stuck in the bottle.
I dose by dripping into the surface skimmer.

I've not used seachem iron, but there should be some recommended dosage written somewhere? Just follow that and you should be ok... don't overdose or you might get a nice algae bloom

I've been using various Seachem liquid fert for > 2yrs now. All their 250ml bottles come with a dropper stuck inside. I'm pretty sure it's somewhere in there.

Try half the recommended dosage after each water change for a start. Adjust as you go along.

The dropper is abt 10cm long. It's floating, but usually stuck at the edge near the screw cap.

My Seachem iron also dun have a dropper included, but there is one in the seachem potassium and flourish. Maybe only Seachem iron does not include the dropper.

c.y. I have a bunch of the pipettes, if you want to get from me.

Shake the bottle when get home (if you haven't done it yet). If something rattles around inside, it's the pipette.

Altenatively, go to any pharmacy and look for syringes. They come in 3, 5, 10, 20, 30ml and other sizes. Only a few cents to few dollars depending on size. They are marked so you can get quite precise with them. I use a 20ml one to draw water for test kits.

I'm using a 30ml measuring cup that came with some fish-medication I bought to dose fert. You might be able to find that in the pharmacy too.

Both my Seachem Iron and Potassium comes with the dropper. Hmmm...... anyway, using the shringe as Vincent suggested will be more convenient. I often have to fish out the dropper from the bottle.
    Cheers!!

    Vinz,

thank you for this snippet of infomation.
    i am using a 10ml one and i'll say it's extremely useful.
good for drawing water for test kits and injecting fertilizers into the substrate.
