Hi, Recently, purchased a pair of magnets to ease the task of cleaning the inner surface of glass tank. Unfortunately, the magnet pick-up some small grains of sand and scratched the glass whilst cleaning it. Does anyone know of a way of repairing these scratches? Pls advise. Thank you, in advance for any advise or help.

    Regards,
    EdwinL

Edwin, the instruction on the magnet cleaners did say don't clean to deeply into the tank to avoid picking sand to scratch the glass.......

If you want to repair, it depends entirely on how major is your current tank setup. Full with soil/fishes/plants ? If its quite major/overhaul, can skip repairing the glass if the scratches are not so noticable.

I'm having this thought. My car windscreen was had this hairline scratch once. This guy applied some solvent into the tiniest gaps and the scratch is gone in minutes. Can this be used?

I think this solvent is harmful to the inhibitants, please do not try it. As for the scratch EdwinL, I think you have to leave it alone.

Like what others have mention, just leave it there and dont do anything. It might worsen it. My tank have some scratch mark too. Nothing is perfect.

    Cheers

If it dries it may or may not leech chemicals back into the water, I wouldnt risk it though.

    Hi Guys,

Thank you, for the inputs. Guess, I will have to leave the scratches. My tank is complete with Plants and Fish and Substrates. Thank you, again for sharing your idea with me.

    Regards,
    EdwinL
