ya will keep the heater running till all the white spot are gone

opps, never read properly, point noted thanks

thanks bro! fries are now roaming around the tank.. as for the agasizzi i got a aga tefe to replace it haha... thanks alot bro =)

My Apisto Trifasciata spawn on last Saturday in the common tank so I had removed the pot to a 1ft cube tank, the fries are in wiggler stage now,abt 40 of them, let bring up this fries together, cheers.
PS:this few days of stomy weather is really good time for spawn activity.

haha congrates mictok!
have both good and bad news
the pair's white spot are all gone!
not sure if this a bad news.. but i see lesser and lesser fries each day..
how many of you acctually separate the father from the fries?
i suspect the father is eating the fries..

i remove if i witness daddy eating the fries, or see him chasing them. if not, everyone stays in the tank...

till now i don't see the male eating the fries or seeing him chasing... hopefully all thefries are hiding now..
anyway, i think the female ready to breed soon.. super yellow!

The female is yellow even during brood-caring, not necessarily only when she's ready to breed.

oh.. okay thanks =)

To play safe I will usually separate the male and even when the fries are about 3 weeks old I will remove the female.
This round I had to remove the whole breeding cave as it is in the common tank and the rams are eyeing at the cave from day 1 when the eggs are laid.
Lets see how it goes.

hmm.. guess the next spawn i will put the male in a breeding box..
thanks =)

update:
sadly, the male has eaten most if not all of the fries, i did a 50% water change today to get them into breeding mood.. i saw them danceing just now.. guess the male is really horny!
anyway, to provide more hiding space for the poor female.. i did a minor rescape..
lots of hiding space among the java fern!

Hi EvolutionZ, what do you feed the fries with?

live BBS and live daphina..
but i got some Decap Brine shrimp eggs few days ago.. guess next spawn i will feed them decap bs eggs instead.

As usual do take care when feeding Apistogrammas with live daphnia. Get from a LFS where you know the live daphnia is fresh and from a clean source.
