Pulau ubin .....
Lol...went there for a biking trip so oh well...
those abandon granite quarries seemed to be a good harvest are for rocks. But backpacking them is a chore for the load.![]()
i've got no time to go all the way there but i need rocks!![]()
looks like i'm gonna miss out again unless i drive there now![]()
Confirmed. NA has got a new shippment of rocks, its on the right box, infront the the fish tank. Just shift those boakwood away to get some hands on.
haha so many people have gone to choose...by the time i can go tomorrow, sure all gone
Yeah...bringing them back was quite tedious actually...along with my bike,i threw almost all of it out keeping only like 4 smaller pieces? Guess i got greedy and started going crazy with it. My regular riding buddies thought i was crazy as well. Apparently everyone is looking for rocks! Might do a rock order ala "Pulau Ubin shipment" soon!Fresh rocks anyone?
Just a tip, remember to soak those rocks you found in vinegar solution, just in case they have limestone minerals in them or other aquarium hurting properties.
An update on my tank...Abit disappointing,my glosso has not really been creeping. They seem to be varying in growth? Its probably a side effect of my initial lazy plantingHairgrass growth at the back is so so...Saw a few new leaves sprouting. My odd bunches of HC planted as a test grew surprisingly well, they started to grow in tight little bunches and those that grew upwards in the beginning are starting to bend sidewards. Fissidens & spikey moss and tied on driftwood are also growing pretty nicely! Used the floating frogbits in an attempt to slowdown Blyxa growth,so far so good except for the fact that my frogbit roots started growing like crazy!Hope my glosso takes off soon and start covering the foreground.
Anyway tank specs are as follows:
Lighting: 24Wx4 T5HO(3 white+ 1 blue)
Lighting period: 3pm-12am(9hrs)
Co2: 1-2 BPS
Temp: Hovering from 25~27deg celcius
Fert: Jaqno Florapro 2ML a week

It's unusual for your HC to outgrown Glosso (in my opinion)... since you have almost 100W of lighting power... do you want to consider increasing your CO2?
I though so too...HC seems to be growing almost too well in my opinion!
The usually slower fissidens are also starting to grow lush. I tried blasting Co2 at about 4~5BPS during the 1st week...but somehow the glosso grew thin and started melting, most puzzling. I've read that glosso does well in a Co2 SUFFICIENT environment, anymore and they start growing thin and small. Well i tried and my glosso stopped melting somewhat? They're growing but soooo slowly! The HC planted AT THE SAME TIME have already sprouted...wondering what else could be wrong!
