Saw this article on coffee table aquarium on The Strait Time Sunday's Life!, where a custom-make coffee table is also a fish tank. A glass serves as the table top, which is also the cover of the fish tank. Can picture that? So, while you are sipping your coffee, you can see fishes swimming right below the coffee table.

It is supposed to be 'idiot-proof' which involves little maintenance . I am not sure how they maintain the eco balance in the tank, for example what if fishes die, plants wilt and algae attack, etc. Any idea?

It doesn't come cheap though, cost between 1k - 4k . Anyone interested? . lol.

Eh I do think you have access to the inside of the tank. I think there was a booth with this at the last Aquarama.

There is a showroom in Parkmall of I'm not wrong....

I think the hobbyist here are smart enough to know the basic structure of a fish tank and
work around it to transform it into a piece of furniture....

From the pictures in the article, they are using low tech plants like java fern and anubias for their setup which are low in requirements such as light, fertilisers and no need CO2 injection

Personally, I would rather design and custom make my own than to pay a premium for it

    my 2 cents

    Ya..

There is a showroom in Parkmall.. The name of the owner is Michael Lee I think.. You should go there and take a look if you are interested.. Think there was one coffee table costs around S$2300.. Not only do they have coffee table but wine bar fish tank etc.. Very nice though but at premium price I must say..

But of cause it's a piece of art and new evolution where you don't keep fishes in a tank anymore.. Therefore in my opinion.. If you are someone who loves to decorate your house with nice furntures.. Then why not..

    Regards
    Samuel
