    Hi all,

currently have a planted 4x2x2 ft tank, using an internal filter thats giving me a headache to clean. As I remove the filter, all the sediments, plant leaves fall off, leaving with dirty water...

thinking of getting an external filter, and after reading the official eheim webpage, the 2213 is stated as fit for a tank up to 200 litres, mine being about 190. However, I read through some threads that mention that the 2213 is being used for a 2 ft tank instead.

So, I'm kind of confused...can the eheim 2213 also be used for my 4 ft tank??

Attached is a picture of my tank, taken about 3 weeks ago. The riccia and the water sprite(I think) at the far left have grown considerably since I used DIY CO2. The internal filter is at the right side, at the back of the tank.

    Thanks in advance !!

4x2x2 ft is about 453 liters, did you measure corectly or you just fill half of it?

    I used 2213 for 1.5x1x1.2(H)

Actually it depend on your setup: external reactor, chiller, filter location, tank hardscape, etc

My tank is densly planted and I use inline external CO2 reactor, that reduce the flow quite a bit.

There is no way your tank is 190 litres... 90 Gallons maybe...
Anyway..2213 is wayyyyyyyyyyyy too small for a tank this size...even the 2028 may be too small.... i don't know but i love over filtration..

be looking for a large filter or 2x whatever that is around the size of a 2028.

Sorry, I made a mistake, its 4 x 1.5 x 1.5 ft, went to measure it haha. Ya, and I dont fill it totally to the top, maybe about 80% ?

But still its too small for a 2213 right? Calculates to be about 200 litres/ 60 gallons

Yup... if its 4 x 1.5 x 1.5 then its probable that 1 x 2028 is possible for the tank...but that i think i already pushing the filter close to its limits.

How much did the tetra cost? I havent had the time to go shopping for a tank, compare prices and such...busy at work these days.

Was considering other brands such as fluval and jebao as well, since the price eheim is quite steep.

I saw 2026 and 2028 models at this fish farm at around jalan kayu area...retailing for around less than $300 ( $258 for 2028...if i rem correctly..). Cheaper i think ...this LFS dude at yishun( along the yishun ring road )was trying to sell a 2026 of for $300 - $350.

I was planning to get from the farm anyway cause i bought some rocks from the dude and the place gives out reasonable discounts ...i am truly sorry...but i didn catch the name of the farm...but i am sure most of the members here might just know the place....

For Eheims filter, NA gives the best price as compare to the rest. Had bought a 2213 for my 1.5X1.5X1.5ft tank few months ago, after connect to external reactor, find the flow slowed down alot, so for 4ft tank is definitely not enough. Hope it helps.

    Cheers
