Great job Ukplanter, I believe you will get good ranking if you submit this entry for ADA 2008 as they are looking for creative work.

Stunning. it's like water within water

WOW ! kind words indeed.... I had no intention of entering this aquarium into comps I think still the right hand corner lets the tank down.
I was under the impression that you could not enter ADA comp after posting pics on forums?
Thanks to all for your comments, Appreciate your opinions
ukplanter you got a recent image of it grown in a bit more? Simply looks amazing. True inspiration right there. Wow.

Don't worry so much. I think the organisers are concerned about copyright issues as they will be publishing a result book containing the entry pictures and do not want the pictures to be in public domain. On the other hand, in the previous years, I had seen top price winning entries on the internet before the closing dates of submissions.
But if you are really worried on this point, you may take another picture of your tank not posted online before and submit it.
Submission is free and I hope to see your tank in the result book.

Yes that's a good way to overcome the copyright issue if you are concern about it. So far the winning top tanks in the past years didn't seem to have any problems.
...I love rubies too ...

Decided to enter the scape just for the hell of it, I dont consider it quite finished but the deadline was upon us.
Good on ya mate!!

Inspirating scape!! Very natural looking to me. Hope you get good results in the competition!!
Just wondering, how did you create the surf effect with cotton wool? Just pluck some and glue it on? What kind of cotton wool is it? Got to control algae very well if not it will not look natural anymore when it turns green.
No fauna for this tank?

the cotton wool had to come out early on... It wasnt working.
Thinking of adding a single sunset platy (the sun in my scape)

Thought you might be interested to know Ive started a new scape same style as 'Coast' here are some preview pics -

Great job! looks very good!
Your soil came out abit though![]()

Nice rescape!! Think you really got talented hands for aquascaping...Very natural looking.
But I still prefer the previous scaping....more unique...
What happened to the cotton wool idea that did not work?
Nice scape you have. You are talented!

this is not a re scape, both tanks are currently up and running..... The cotton wool got algae on it and looked bad so I took it out. I may try it again someday as the effect was good. I wonder if there was something I could spray the cotton wool with to 'fix' it (make it solid or rigid) whilst at the same time keeping its fluffy appearance. This would make it a lot easier to work with.
Magic4lifez - I hope the HC will grow over the reaming visible soil, I think I might change the sand soon to lighter coloured (white) sand. What do you think?
